Communications News...

The Associated Press (AP) recently released a feature story on the Bureau’s Go The EXTRA Mile training program written by locally-based journalist Catherine Tsai.  A second story will be released by AP August 4 comparing Denver in 1908 and 2008 by writer Beth Harpaz. Also coming up, The New York Times will release a Denver travel feature titled “36 Hours” due out August 10.

Amid all this great coverage, the Communication Department is also gearing up for the Democratic National Convention and the expected 17,000 attending media.  MSNBC recently announced it will be broadcasting live around the world for 20 hours a day during the convention week, August 25-28, from their outdoor location behind Union Station.  Coverage will start at 4 a.m. and continue throughout the day.  MSNBC is encouraging Denver locals and visitors to be a part of the coverage so that it may be “of the people, by the people, and for the people.”
