The Seeds of Inspiration
DPL’s Fresh City Life promotes the library and community by developing opportunities for Denver citizens to learn and create. On the heels of the phenomenal response to its independent designers challenge – Frock Out, Fresh City Life announced EyeBelieve: a chance for filmmakers of every stripe to produce a short film that reflects core values – what you believe is the life-sustaining truth of your world.
“By their very definitions, "core" means that it's at the center, while "values" is defined as our beliefs. Core values then translate into beliefs that are at the center of who we are and define us both as individuals and professionals. They are the critical, intangible essentials that bring continuity and meaning to life. The anchors that support all we do and define who we are.
Despite whether it's good times or turbulent times, core values are your guidepost, your touchstone, the means by which you always know what to do because you are guided by that unchangeable, unwaverable set of core values. General Hal M. Homburg, 11/16/2000 Cadet Graduation Address, Lexington VA
Filmmakers are invited to enter films that show your community, your soul, your challenges, your triumphs. And Denver Public Library and Denver Open Media in turn will show your film to thousands of viewers who are curious about your vision and your journey. All eligible films will be highlighted on believe.denverlibrary.org prior to the festival.
