Denver's best museums are open late and admission is FREE between 5 and 10 p.m. FREE shuttles make it easy to explore all evening!*

Shuttle buses will stop at or near museums listed below, beginning at 5 p.m. from the Denver Art Museum (parking available in the Cultural Complex Garage) and also from shuttle stop between the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and the Denver Zoo.

Denver Art Museum – The museum's fascinating permanent galleries are open for free. www.denverartmuseumorg.

Denver Museum of Nature & Science – Free admission to permanent exhibits like Expedition Health, Space Odyssey and Prehistoric Journey.

Black American West Museum – Experience history through re-enactors and video presentations.

Byers-Evans House Museum – Get a glimpse of life in Denver in 1912 in this beautiful historic home.

The Cell – See this interactive museum that provides understanding of terrorism and empowers individuals to help enhance community safety.

Children's Museum of Denver – Help the littlest artists in the community create their very own masterpieces. (Adults must be accompanied by children at all Children's Museum events.)

Clyfford Still Museum – Enjoy tours, documentary screenings of STILL, gallery talks and more to learn about this groundbreaking abstract expressionist.

Denver Botanic Gardens – Free Day combines with Night at the Museums for free access all day. Enjoy the Gardens’ beauty by day and see Catalyst: Colorado Sculpture by moonlight. The Gardens will feature an alter exhibition for Día de los Muertos and special performances.

Denver Firefighters Museum – Visit the hottest place in town for a look at firefighting history.

Forney Museum of Transportation – Come see some amazing planes, trains and automobiles at this hidden gem attraction.

History Colorado Center – See Denver's newest museum, filled with hands-on, high-tech exhibits that take you back in time, connecting what was to what's next.

Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art – Enjoy the place the Denver Post called "Denver's most interesting museum." Membership discounts available. (Children under 13 years of age not admitted.)

Molly Brown House Museum – Discover the home of Denver resident and Titanic survivor, the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown.

Museum of Contemporary Art – Explore the amazing spaces at the museum and take in the view on the rooftop deck.

Night at the Museums in Golden* – The Golden History Center will feature a special hands-on tour of a brand-new exhibit: Made in Golden, and costumed hosts will guide you through the 1867 Astor House Museum and test your wit with tricky Victorian parlor games.


More Metro Area Museums Open for Night at the Museums

  • Dinosaur Ridge* – Experience the Trek Through Time exhibit, fossil sifting and dinosaur track painting for the kids. (For a fee, see the dinosaur track site by flashlight!)
  • Littleton Museum* – Experience the Living History Farm with staff in costumes, each with its own history and amusing stories.
  • Mizel Museum* – Explore the 4,000 Year Road Trip: Gathering Sparks exhibition
  • Museum of Outdoor Arts* – Enjoy a plethora of sculpture, including the bronze Alice in Wonderland series and The Faux Show.

*Free transportation shuttles are not available to the Golden Museums, Dinosaur Ridge, Littleton Museum, the Mizel Museum or the Museum of Outdoor Art.
