Larimer Square/LoDo
By day, Larimer Square and LoDo (Lower Downtown) are populated by Denver’s most stylish residents, boasting ultra-hip boutiques, cozy cafes and plenty of people watching opportunities. By night, the area transforms into the city’s most fabulous nightlife experience. Within just a few blocks, you’ll find more than enough after hours excitement to last you for a good long while.
Start the night at Amuse (1475 Lawrence St., Suite #150), a fun and sophisticated restaurant concept by Michel Wahaltere and Francois Safieddine. Enjoy unique cocktails like the Amuse (orange vodka, Cointreau, lime juice, & white cranberry juice) and the French Kiss (vodka, Cinzano & Framboise liqueur), while nibbling on delicious small plate appetizers.
Amuse is located within the 5 Degrees nightclub, (1475 Lawrence St., Suite #150), a 70s-styled downtown bar-lounge-restaurant known for its perfectly mixed martini (48 varieties in all!), mod furniture and extremely chilled out atmosphere. The menu, designed by Bistro Vendome’s Eric Roeder, offers all kinds of tasty treats, like oysters and chilled potato vodka soup. As is fitting for such a stylish spot, 5 Degrees hosts regular fashion shows, with the club’s cool courtyard serving as the runway.
In the mood for a little bubbly? An opulent champagne and crudo bar in Larimer Square, Corridor 44 (1433 Larimer St., pictured right) is intimate and unabashedly sensual, juxtaposing white leather banquettes and crystal chandeliers with striped walls, oversized chairs and Zebra-print carpeting. The bubbly bar features some of the world’s most prestigious labels, offering more than 85 sparkling wines by the bottle, split and glass, as well as a full bar and complete still wine list.
Suite Two Hundred on Larimer Square offers elite upscale sophistication to Denver's nightlife scene. This 7,000 square-foot dance club caters to every whim and desire of the A-list crowd, from local social leaders to out of town celebrities. Suite Two Hundred's dance floor makes up the majority of the club with a VIP room in the back called The Marquis. If the dance floor proves to be too hot to handle, take a step outside to the outdoor patio and lounge on our furniture with a drink from the patio bar.
Want to kick back in style in between clubs? Try the Cruise Room, (1600 17th St.) one of Denver’s coolest cocktail lounges, located in the historic Oxford Hotel. The Cruise has been frozen in time since its Art Deco facelift in 1933 – it was fashioned after a lounge on the Queen Mary. Original chrome and neon reflect onto wall panels depicting light-hearted "toasts" from around the world. It’s a timeless Mile High City spot to spend your nighttime in.
For a little old-fashioned entertainment, hit Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret, (1601 Arapahoe St., pictured right) located on the 16th Street Mall in the basement of the landmark D&F Tower -- you can't miss it. Lannie's features big bands, sultry singers, comedy and all kinds of after hours fun.
If you start feeling the need to get “above it all” – literally – head to the Peaks Lounge, (650 15th St.), a contemporary oasis in the Hyatt Regency Denver, providing the perfect backdrop for sophisticated gatherings with an unmatched view of that fabulous Rocky Mountain Front Range. The gourmet small plate cuisine and desserts are as luxurious as the cocktails and plush confines.
SoCo Nightlife District
On the other side of Denver’s downtown, you’ll encounter a wealth of nightlife options -- especially good if you’re in the mood for dancing. In the South of Colfax Nightlife District you'll pay one admission price for several hot nightclub venues, each with more than enough drinks, dancing and DJs, all within walking distance of each other.
There’s the Church (1160 Lincoln St., Denver, CO), a renovated former house of worship that now bows to the altar of good times. Check out their Saturday Latin nights, with live salsa bands -- and salsa dancing lessons beginning at 9:30 p.m. Vinyl (between 10th and 11th on Broadway), meanwhile, is a multileveled nightlife playground, with live hip hop and dancehall reggae, a sweaty dance floor and friendly vibes. The Funky Buddha Lounge (776 Lincoln, Denver. CO) is indeed extremely funky and fun, with an intimate atmosphere, great drink specials and one of Denver’s best rooftop lounges. After a long and invigorating night of clubhopping, chill out at Two:AM (1144 Broadway, Denver, CO) , a lounge open in the wee hours of 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
