“Unfinished and Unheard” The Mahlerfest Chamber Concert!
May 17, 2017
For 30 years the festival has been an important part of the artistic life of Boulder and Denver. In a week-long festival of films, symposiums, and master classes that culminate in a performance of one of Mahler's monumental symphonies, one evening is dedicated to chamber music that is tied in some way to the life and times of Mahler. For the first time ever, the Dairy Arts Center will host an evening of chamber music that was either unfinished by the composer (Mahler's piano quartet) or not performed until after the composer's death (the masterful Schubert Quintet with two cellos). The brilliant Epomeo Trio (featuring cellist Kenneth Woods, who is also the Festival's director) will anchor the various chamber music configurations. This will be a chamber music highlight of the year in Boulder!
