BRAHMS CONDUCTED BY THE DRAGON

Mar 5, 2017

Join Associate Conductor Christopher Dragon as he teams with pianist and former Colorado Symphony Music Director Jeffrey Kahane. For his return to Denver, Kahane tackles the singular piano concerto of Robert Schumann. Leading off the program, the Brahms opener, Nanie -- funeral song in German -- is a meditation on mortality. After the dramatic start, Schumann's energetic and eclectic Piano Concerto provides some lightness, and the melodic masterwork that is Brahms' Symphony No. 3 follows.
