Faces of GW

Mar 13, 2017 - Mar 31, 2017

The Mexican Cultural Center (MCC), is pleased to invite you to "Faces of GW" student photography exhibit. This exhibit will be open to the public from March 13th to March 31st, 2017 with free admission for all from Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
As Julia Ortiz, curator of the exhibit said, "Faces of GW"is a collaborate photography project that was inspired and designed after National Geographic's Faces of America article. Through this exhibit, we explore the stories of the faces that walk through the halls of our high school every day. Sometimes, in the hustle and bustle of school and work, we do not get to connect with each other in a meaningful way. Photographers were asked to photograph, and connect with a student or teacher at this school that they have never spoken to. The purpose of this exercise is to connect with each other as a GW community through our experiences, personal struggles and common struggles as we navigate the world around us. Ultimately, student or teacher, athlete or artist, we are human and it is this human-ess that drives our One George community to the core.
We will present the work of the following students from George Washington High School: Jennifer Piña, Makayla Ruoff, Evie Jurich, Emma Stefanacci, Katia Solis, Oumard Ouattara, Thomas Rossier, Kadedra Taerna, Lili Kempton, Ashley Flores, Brittany D'Avila, Jorgia Peterson, Ashley Flores, Hailey Lloyd and Sadies Martinez
