SINGERS will perform an exciting holiday concert, “Sing Alleluia!” on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 7:30 pm at St. Peter & St. Mary Episcopal Church, 126 W. 2nd Ave. in Denver. At this Sunday evening concert, you will hear the tender Chester Lullaby by Patrick Gowers, the rhythmic Nigerian carol Betelehemu as arranged by Wendell Whalum and Barrington Brooks, and the brilliant Welcome Yule by Edwin Fissinger. The concert will also feature several works where the text is a single word: Alleluia. These selections include a Craig Courtney piece, which was inspired by his trip to Ukraine, Eric Whitacre’s ethereal setting—which is a reworking of his wind ensemble piece, “October”—and Randall Thompson’s classic version, commissioned in 1940 by Serge Koussevitsky for the opening of the Berkshire Music Festival. Join us and enjoy the sounds of this beautiful season through choral music!
Admission is $15/$12 students and seniors. Tickets are available at the door or on our website at http://www.singerschamberchoir.com/season.html. For more information call 303.980.9184.
