Blossoms of Fire (directors Maureen Gosling and Ellen Osborne) celebrates the people of Juchitán on the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Oaxaca, Mexico. Their Zapotec culture, rooted in a strong work ethic and fierce independent streak, generates powerful women, progressive politics and an extraordinary acceptance of alternative gender roles. Suggested $5 - $10 donation.
