In October 2012 Arvada Center Exhibition Manager and Curator Collin Parson and Clyfford Still Museum Director, Dean Sobel sat down together and reviewed over 1653 entries submitted by 588 artists during a three month process. The result is Art of the State a large and diverse selection of 191 pieces of art representing 160 Colorado artists opening January 24 through March 31 that will utilize every area of the three galleries at the Arvada Center. This exhibition will also be the unveiling of a major upgrade in the Main Gallery featuring a new high sheen concrete floor. The polished surface replaces carpet dating back many years and will be much more aesthetically pleasing for an art gallery.
