The Hotel Rehearsal, designed by artist and architect Alex Schweder, looks at the changing city space through the usage of surface parking lots. In various parking lots downtown, an inflatable hotel room will lift in and out of a van via a scissor lift. When extended to its maximum height, the room provides the view you might one day have from a hotel room on this site. When the room is lowered into the space of the van, the van moves throughout the parking lot as it normally would.
