Denver American Indian Commission will host this film screening and performance by artist Radmilla Cody, a Navajo/African American woman who endured prejudice, domestic violence and incarceration to become a Grammy nominated singer. The film, Hearing Radmilla, is a portrait of Radmilla Cody, Miss Navajo Nation 1997-98. Produced and directed by Angela Webb, the film follows Radmilla through her controversial reign as the first biracial Miss Navajo and a promising singer.
