Rosa, a young Dutch woman, comes to Japan to learn the art of preparing fish from the best fish chef in the world. The reality of her situation becomes apparent, however, as she finds herself isolated in a world far removed from what she’s accustomed to. Only after getting into financial problems, taking a job in a nightclub, and ultimately descending into a desperate state of homelessness, does Rosa begin to understand the secrets of the fish and the master fish chef himself.
