Dates have yet to be announced

PRESENTED BY
Dinosaur Ridge

If you like puzzles, treasure maps or secret hiding places, join the Friends of Dinosaur Ridge and Geocaching Colorado on August 13th from 10-2:30 for a free day of adventure at Dinosaur Ridge. There will be lessons in Geocaching for both kids and adults. Bring a GPS device or use a loaner provided at the United States Geological Survey booth (deposit required). Rockhounding activities such as gold panning, metal detecting, fossil sifting, geode cracking, and dinosaur track painting will be at the Visitor Center! A free mineral specimen for each kid will be provided by the Greater Denver Area Gem & Mineral Council, sponsor of the upcoming Denver Gem & Mineral Show, September 16-18. Door prizes, a scavenger hunt and Mr. Bones will add to the fun. Food can be purchased from Boy Scout Troop 567, raising funds for scout activities. On the Trail: Guides will explain the geology and fossils and assist in GPS puzzles. Lookout Mountain Nature Center will present “Tracking” (tentatively) at their booth. The National Park Service booth will promote the upcoming National Fossil Day. Hiking the trail is free (several caches are along the way); optional shuttle is $3.00/person, 4 & 5 half price, 3 & under ride free. Dinosaur Ridge is located just west of the C-470 exit at Alameda Parkway.
