The Player's Guild (at the Festival Playhouse)
Charles Ault started the Players Guild in 1936 as a means to put food on the table in the middle of the depression. A love for the theatre and a creative mind brought a group of talented community actors and actress together to provide the public with live entertainment. This concept was later passed on to his son Charley Ault, Jr. who now runs the Players Guild. By age 8 Charley was in his first play, and directing by age 26. He fully took over the business by age 29. The Players Guild performed there for 14 years after which they traveled around the city, performing in such places as Lorretto Heights and Houston Fine Arts Center for 8 years. In 1990 they found their new home at the Festival Playhouse in Old Town Arvada.
