The Cactus Hill Holocaust
A parody of some sort but hopefully comes across as an environmental statement. Most cactus plants can live and even thrive in the harshest of environments. Their unique shape and forms have always reminded me of people. This anthropomorphic illusion combined with surreal landscapes is incorporated in my imagery. Changing geology and climate dictate how the fragile life within adapts as desert ecosystems are extremely sensitive to change. Even small changes can permanently impact the future and forever destroy evidence of the past.
