St. Patrick's Day Parade
The exciting countdown has officially begun till the "Irish Stampede" Denver St. Patrick's Day Parade presented by Bellco! Queen Colleen has been selected, Kate Kelly sponsored by the Irish Network of Colorado. She is a graduate of the University of Denver and an international account specialist for Leprino Foods. The Grand Marshal, Adrian Farrell, Consul General of Ireland is engaged in developing stronger relationships between the U.S. and Ireland to drive economic growth. March 2016 marks the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising of 1916 that led to Irish Independence. This parade will be the largest cultural event on the streets of LoDo commemorating that pivotal time in history when men and women envisioned a new Ireland, a national democracy.
The parade, the largest Irish celebration west of the Mississippi, steps off at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 12th rain or shine! The parade winding through Lower Downtown beginning at 19th and Wynkoop, left on 17th Street to Blake Street, east on Blake and end at 27th and Blake at the Coors Field parking lot.
Experience a parade that is rich in Irish culture with Pipe Bands, Step Dancers, Floats, Equestrians our esteemed Honorary Division and more. Come be a part of history in the making. The Denver St. Patrick's Day Parade is unmatched this side of the Mississippi where more than 350,000 people will line the streets of the Mile High City. The largest cultural parade is a time to join us to celebrate and remember those whose self-determination and vision made a mark on the world. Today everyone is Irish!
