Built in 1897, the Historic Molly Brown Summer House Museum and its newly constructed sister The Denver Pavilion at the Brown's Event Center is not unique — it's one of a kind. Designed and built as a 400 acre country estate by Denver's famous J.J. and Molly Brown, the couple dubbed it "Avoca Lodge" as it became their favorite retreat from crowded city life. Avoca is where they raised their children, and spent leisurely time during the height of their wealth and happiness. Owned and operated by the Fehlmann family for the past 87 years both buildings are set on the last existing acre with adjoining park like grounds, three generous decks overlook gardens wrapped with cobblestone pavers which lead guests through a private forest of trees finishing at an outdoor patio, courtyard and fire pit. Both buildings are easily accessed with plenty of well-lit on-site parking. The Molly Brown Summer House is available for private guest viewing while the Pavilion hosts weddings, corporate meetings, retreats, family gatherings and a variety of community entertainment and special programs. Such as murder mystery dinners, luncheons featuring historic figures, craft fairs and seasonal events. Our staff will see to it that meeting or private function hosts relax without the worry of rentals since we house a fully outfitted commercial kitchen, BBQ, bar, tables, chairs, chair covers, and linens enough to host more than 200 guests. One half of the Event Center is beautifully carpeted leaving the remaining half to dance the night away. If an outdoor event is your desire we will make it come true with our fantastic house DJ, overhead LED lighting system and the finest quality in sound provide a club like atmosphere for all to dance under the stars. When it’s time to rest, take a hospitality shuttle to one of nine hotels within one mile. Need little extras? Try our big screen TV, Bose sound system and gift shop.   • Group Activities Description: Specializing in group tours for up to 50 guests, The Museum is unique in that an excellent brunch, lunch or dinner is served with every program. A one hour program is presented by the granddaughter of the family which has owned the home for 81 years. Tours include proprietary photos, architectural and artifact display and are completely open to questions and discussion. Set on a beautifully landscaped acre, strolling is encouraged.   • Group Performance Description: The Molly Brown Summer House prides itself on hosting community events. Large performances with up to 100 guests may be done on the grounds for the general public. Smaller trios etc. may use the house to entertain up to 50 guests. We will do everything in our power to make sure your event is a success. Some date and time restrictions may apply during a busy season.

  • Description The main floor includes the parlor, library, country room and dining room--four historic, Victorian style rooms with high ceilings, original woodwork and period furnishings. The Museum is always seasonally decorated. In addition to the historic house with its inviting wrap-around porch, there are beautifully landscaped grounds situated on one acre including cobblestone patios, curving pathways, fountains and lawns.
