Tornaviaje/the Return Route
This exhibit will feature 21 panels from the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque alongside pieces from Museo's collection as well as contributions from collector like David Butler of the Denver Art Museum. The subject of Torna is the trade routes between Acapulco and Manila, Philippines starting in the 16th century and how this cultural exchange with Asia influenced Mexico and the Americas. We have pottery, Spanish coins, clothing, etc. from that era which demonstrates Asian influence in traditional Mexican heritage. The exhibit will partner with Asian cultural institutions in Denver to celebrate these unique but linked heritages.
America/North_Dakota/Center
