Ten minutes from downtown Denver, the Refuge is home to more than 330 species of wildlife including bison, bald eagles, deer, songbirds, waterfowl, and burrowing owls. The Visitor Center exhibits focus on Refuge wildlife and history. Visitor opportunities include nature programs, guided wildlife viewing tours, fishing, wildlife photography, and hiking on over 9 miles of nature trails. The Wildlife Drive allows visitors to see the refuge at their own pace.

  • Group Activities Description: Guided 2 hour wildlife viewing tours and a variety of nature programs offered by reservation. Call for tour and program schedule. Nature programs vary depending on season and time of day. Presentations available upon request. All tours and programs are free. Seasonal catch-and-release fishing available on Saturdays, Sundays, and Tuesdays for $3.00/day. Self-guided 10 mile auto tour route open every day.
