To help delegates and Denver visitors get around the city, some 1,000 free bicycles will be available. Bike-friendly Denver has more than 850 miles of off-street, paved bike trails to explore. Here are a few of the events:
American Presidential Experience

The American Presidential Experience, the largest traveling exhibit of presidential memorabilia, is making its way to the Rocky Mountain region for the first time. The exhibit includes life-size replicas of Air Force One and the Oval Office, a collection of first lady gowns, and a historical U.S. flag display. This amazing non-partisan collection brings more history to an historic time in Colorado. General admission tickets required.

Dialog:City brings together a mix of internationally-renowned artists and designers to create interactive, site-specific works in neighborhoods across Denver. This project deals with issues such as the environment and homelessness and includes a temporary pavilion for public discourse, large-scale outdoor projections and a choir piece imagining a new American voice. During this historic time, Denver becomes a Dialog:City through art and design.

Cinemocracy Rocks
Short Films Answering "What is Democracy?"

During a year of monumental change, citizens of the world were invited to share their ideas about democracy via short films. The collection of films created the Cinemocracy Short Film Festival. The top 25 films (as determined by public online voting) will be screened publicly at the Cinemocracy Rocks event on Monday night. In addition, the winning film will be screened as part of the official program of the 31st Starz Denver Film Festival (November 13-23).

Denver comes alive as top-flight jazz groups and musicians perform at this year's festival, which coincides with the Convention. Included in the line-up are Eric Darlus, Poncho Sanchez and Arturo Sandoval. Five Points, the host neighborhood of the festival, was one of the West's premier spots for jazz from the 1920s to 1950s, welcoming legends such as Louie Armstrong and Billie Holiday. This rich musical tradition continues in August with this salute to jazz.

This festival showcases sustainable living options, from cutting-edge renewable technologies to everyday solutions that can be implemented in the home. The event includes interactive and educational exhibits, a farmers market of local and organic produce, a children's area, eco-carnival games, music and entertainment. It is a Colorado celebration of sustainable choices in America's New West. A Green Central Station will be on display, highlighting environmentally responsible technologies and practices. The display includes a solar technology house, a 140-foot-long wind turbine blade, a bike station with solar kiosks, and more.
Target Free Day at the Denver Art Museum (DAM)

Target will host a free day at the DAM on Monday, Aug. 25. This special day will allow delegates and their families a chance to view the world-class collections and spectacular exhibitions at the DAM.
Freewheelin': A Citywide Bike-Sharing Program

This innovative initiative, sponsored by Humana and the non-profit Bikes Belong, encourages bike use as an alternative mode of transportation during the Convention. Close to 1,000 bikes are available free of charge for anyone looking for an alternative to automobiles while the Convention is in town. The Freewheelin' bike racks are set up at various points around the city. Following the Convention, 70 of the bikes will remain in the city for use by Denver citizens as part of an ongoing program to support carbon emission reduction and healthy, active lifestyles.
Symposia of the Rockies

The Convention Executive Committee is launching a series of 10 symposia, which will coincide with the Convention. Participants include members of congress, governors, chief executive officers from foreign and domestic companies, journalists and educators. Topics will include technology, retirement security, transportation and climate change. The dynamic discussions will each run about two hours, and will focus on issues that truly make a
difference to our country now and as we face numerous changes and uncertainties in the future.
Live Online Streaming of Convention

The DNCC is offering High-Definition coverage of the Convention on its Web site, DemConvention.com. The Web site will provide live, gavel-to-gavel coverage, made available worldwide over the Internet. Unlike television broadcasts, viewers will be able to select their preferred camera angle, allowing them to control how the Convention is covered. For the first time ever, this live stream will also be simulcast in Spanish.
