DENVER HOST COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES ALL-ACCESS BIKE STATION AT CHILDREN'S MUSEUM

August 07, 2008

The Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee is excited to announce the "All-Access Bike Station," located at the Denver Children's Museum from Saturday, Aug. 23-Thursday, Aug. 28.

In a first for a Convention Host Committee, the All-Access Bike Station will be offering hand cycles for the disabled community - recumbent, upright, racing and off-road.

The All-Access Bike Station complements the "Freewheelin'" bike program, which is a joint effort between Humana Inc., Boulder-based Bikes Belong and the Denver Host Committee.

The hand cycles are being provided by Adaptive Adventures - a group that specializes in recreational opportunities for the disabled community - which is based in Evergreen, Colorado.

With the array of hand cycles being made available, people are invited to cruise Denver's expansive bike lanes, the popular Platte River Bike Trail or, for those seeking some adventure, ride around the Gates Crescent Park on the off-road hand cycle that includes an obstacle course next to the Children's Museum.

The Denver Children's Museum is located at:
2121 Children's Museum Drive
Denver, CO 80211

Directions
Take I-25 to Exit 211
Turn left on 23rd
Turn a right on 7th Street, which turns into Children's Museum Drive

The Children's Museum is also accessible by the Platte River Bike Trail and RTD's light rail at the Invesco Field station.
