RIBBON CUTTING SIGNALS OPENING OF AMERICAN PRESIDENTIAL EXPERIENCE AT INVESCO FIELD

Original signed copy of the Declaration of Independence is part of the collection

The Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee announces a ribbon cutting at the American Presidential Experience on Friday, Aug. 22, marking the official opening of the nation's largest traveling exhibit of presidential memorabilia. This is the first time the collection has come to the Rocky Mountain Region.


WHAT: Following the ribbon cutting, the American Presidential Experience will be open to the public at 9:30 a.m. This non-partisan, interactive exhibit includes a full-scale replica of the fuselage of Air Force One, original signed presidential documents, a replica of the Oval Office, an original signed copy of the Declaration of Independence, and a collection of first lady gowns.


WHO: Ribbon cutters include Mayor John Hickenlooper, Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee President/Chair Elbra Wedgeworth, and Head Curator of the exhibit Jim Warlick. City Auditor Dennis Gallagher and City Council President Michael Hancock also will attend.
