Interfaith Gathering
To kick-off Convention week in a spirit of unity, the DNCC, in conjunction with the Democratic Party's Faith in Action (FIA) Initiative, will host an interfaith gathering on Sunday, August 24th, beginning at 2:00 PM at the Wells Fargo Theater located in the Colorado Convention Center. This is the first time a celebration of this nature has been part of a Democratic National Convention and is symbolic of the Party's desire to bring multiple communities together under its "big tent." The gathering will include clergy of different faiths, Party leaders, elected officials and local community leaders. The event will be open to the public.

Green Frontier Fest
To be held Sunday, August 24 in the Sculpture Park of the Denver Performing Arts Complex, the Green Frontier Fest will be an open-to-the-public event promoting green practices and highlighting the sustainable aspects of the Democratic National Convention. The free festival will feature human-powered carnival rides for the kids, information booths hosted by eco-friendly businesses and organizations, as well as exhibits and artwork promoting eco-friendly messages.

After Five Jazz & Blues Festival
Taking place in the Five Points Neighborhood aver Convention Week, After Five’s Sunday schedule has a gospel theme, including Kurt Carr and the Kurt Carr Singers, the Gospel According to Jazz and As one Ministries. Gates open at 1 p.m.; Showtime is at 2 p.m.

New Orleans All-Star Jam-Balaya
True to its name, the New Orleans All-Star Jam-Balaya features an all-star line-up of New Orleans musicians, including Allen Toussaint with the Meters, James Andrews, The Wetlands All-Stars with Tab Benoit, Terence Blanchard, Randy Newman and many more. The concert is a a special benefit hosted by the Friends of New Orleans.

Green Sunday at Red Rocks
The Denver 2008 Convention Host Committee will present an official welcoming concert event for invited guests to celebrate the City's greening efforts around the 2008 Democratic National Convention, as well as to raise environmental awareness. "Green Sunday At Red Rocks," an opening act to Denver's hosting of the Convention, will feature performances by recording artists and environmental advocates including Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds, Sheryl Crow and Sugarland. The event also will feature addresses by Laurie David, global warming activist and producer of Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth"; Van Jones, founder and president of Green For All; Bill McDonough, architect and sustainable living pioneer; and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., senior attorney for NRDC and chairman of Waterkeeper Alliance. Executive hosts for the event will be Gov. Bill Ritter Jr., Mayor John Hickenlooper and U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar. Congresswoman Diana DeGette and Gov. Tim Kaine of Virginia also will appear. Note: This event is open only to delegates and accredited media.

Denver 2008 Marketplace
The 2008 Democratic National Convention Host Committee is hosting a business marketplace in Civic Center Park that will showcase Colorado's culture and diversity during the Democratic National Convention. Hundreds of services and products will be on display, along with food, entertainment and music.

Denver Tip: If you’ve got an hour or two to spare, head out to Red Rocks for a look at one of Denver’s most beloved landmarks. Aside from being a geological wonder 70 million years in the making, Red Rocks Amphitheatre is one of the world’s most famous concert sites and a must see for any music enthusiast. Bands ranging from The Beatles to U2 to Dave Matthews have graced the stage surrounded by dramatic 500-foot high red sandstone cliffs. Trails surrounding the concert venue and a spectacular view of the plains make it a perfect place for moderately challenging hikes. The park is open from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily, free of charge. The Visitors Center opens at 8:00 a.m.
