Free Denver Museum Days

On the first Saturday of every month at the Denver Art Museum (DAM), you can enjoy the world-class art collections, featuring work from the most creative minds of all time, without spending a dime! (Free general admission does not include ticketed exhibitions, which require a fee.) Tickets are available on-site starting at 10 a.m. And remember, kids aged five and younger always get in free. UPDATE: March 21-29, the Denver Art Museum will be FREE for kids under 18!

 

The interactive Children’s Museum of Denver is free every first Tuesday of the month from 4-8 p.m. It’s a great time to explore, play, and meet other kids and parents.

 

The first Saturday of every month is Penny Saturday at the Museum of Contemporary Art | Denver. This popular day invites everyone to take part in the Museum experience for only one cent. Activities enhance the atmosphere, docents offer tours of new exhibits and hands-on workshops in the Idea Box make a day spent at the Museum educational and entertaining. Delicious cupcakes and coffee in the MCA CAFE can extend your experience from visual to conversational.

 

Denver Restaurant Week Extended!

Looking for a classy – but cheap – date? Look no further than the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Most performances have tickets starting at $15. You’ll see one of the country’s best symphonies, conducted by the renowned Jeffrey Kahane, performing some of the greatest music ever written, from Mozart to Stravinsky and beyond. The performances take place in the Boettcher Concert Hall (part of the Denver Performing Arts Complex), a venue known for its perfect acoustics and incredible sightlines – there isn’t a bad seat in the house.

Another great, low-cost way to discover Denver is with the new Denver Story Trek. The Trek leads visitors through a rich variety of Denver neighborhoods, capturing the essence of Denver’s heritage and showcasing the vibrant city it is today. A great experience by car or bus, Denver Story Trek can also be geared to two wheels – on a bicycle. Trek routes include the Cherry Creek Bike Path, Civic Center Park and five landmark “hubs” – Four Mile Historic Park, Byers-Evans House Museum, Molly Brown House Museum (pictured right), Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art and the Black American West Museum and Heritage Center. Based on your own curiosity level, you may choose to trek chronologically, take diversions across themes, or pioneer your own route. Whatever you choose to explore, take photos and make your own connections. Then share the stories of what you discovered on www.DenverStoryTrek.org. Visitors on the Trek will also have the opportunity to share their own stories about Denver via Trek Connect signs at each of the landmark hubs, which will instruct visitors to dial a phone number to hear the site’s official story, and then to listen into the memories of other trekkers as well as record their own.
