You may not find a better deal all year. The Mile High City's spectacular Denver Arts Week kicks off in high style with Night At The Museums. From 5-10 p.m. on Friday Nov. 14, 11 of Denver's world-class museums will open their doors for FREE, offering special programming and unique entertainment. It's going to be one of the most memorable nights in Denver in 2008.

A few highlights:

The Colorado History Museum invites you to talk to Denver artist Barbara Froula who will be on hand for Night at the Museum to preview her watercolor commissioned by the museum for the upcoming exhibit, Denver at 150: Imagine a Great City.

At the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, mingle with some of the world's cutting-edge polar scientists and explorers at POLAR-PALOOZA! This multimedia road show will present Earth's iciest, most remote regions. See a 130,000-year-old piece of ice, try on extreme cold weather gear, and learn an Alaskan Native dance. Also enjoy cool jazz and a cash bar with frozen drinks and snacks. Mention "Denver Arts Week" and receive a 10% discount on a general Museum membership, available all week.

The Kirkland Museum of Decorative & Fine Art is partnering with Dazzle Restaurant & Lounge to offer an evening of cool jazz and modern art. From 5 to 10 p.m. guests can explore the museum's renowned collection of decorative art -- with over 3,300 pieces from Arts and Crafts through Modern and to Pop Art -- and its Colorado Modernist collection, while enjoying wonderful hors d'oeuvres from Dazzle. From 7 to 9 p.m. Purnell Steen and Le Jazz Machine will give a live performance at the museum, and will be joined by Denver legend Charlie Burrell.

See the Forney Museum of Transportation as never before, by lamp and headlight, as historic vehicles shine into the night. A cross-section of 200 years of transportation will be lit for this night only. Grab a lantern and stroll through the museum, listen to tour guides and music among the cars, and shop early for holiday gifts and ornaments.

Colorado's past comes to life at the Byers-Evans House with stories read by Colorado Homegrown Tales in the library of this historic Denver landmark. FREE Guided tours will be given and refreshments served.

Ballet Ariel and the Hannah Kahn Dance Company will present Contemporary Forms in Space and Time at the Denver Art Museum. These two Denver dance companies will join forces to offer free performances in the lobby of the Hamilton Wing. Performances will take place at 6:30 and again at 8:00 p.m.

Museum of Contemporary Art | Denver will host an MI 5 musical performance during Night at the Museums at 6:30 pm, featuring the Denver Contemporary Chamber Players. The MI 5 program is intended to enhance the way visitors experience the Museum by providing interactive tools that cater to the different intelligences. Everyone who is curious about contemporary art has an opportunity to learn a style that suits their personal aptitudes. Note: MCA DENVER will offer $52.80 Dual/Family Memberships (a $75 value) throughout Denver Arts Week.

The Molly Brown House Museum celebrates with special tours and live Irish music.

Black American West Museum, where the colors of the west come alive, is dedicated to the history of African American men, women and children who ventured west as cowboys, miners, mountain men, buffalo soldiers, homesteaders, politicians and entrepreneurs. Go to the Black American West Museum for Night at the Museums and participate in a scavenger hunt and story telling.

Blast to the past at the Children's Museum with silent movies about the old west, create clay city skylines of Denver, join forces in a collaborative art piece and so much more!
