Mayor Hickenlooper and Denver’s Top Chefs to Proclaim Feb. 21-27, 2009, as Denver Restaurant Week.

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper and up to 224 of
Denver’s top chefs will hold a press conference to officially announce
Denver Restaurant Week, the largest culinary celebration in Denver’s
history. Mayor Hickenlooper will deliver an official proclamation and
offer a toast to the city’s chefs. Richard Scharf, president
& CEO of the sponsoring VISIT DENVER, The Convention & Visitors
Bureau, will make an announcement concerning the first official week-long
extension of Denver Restaurant Week and reveal the names of the 133
restaurants extending.

The 224 participating chefs will pose for a historic
photo in the Galleria of the Denver Performing Arts Complex, signifying that
Denver’s dining scene is “on stage” during Denver
Restaurant Week. Mayor Hickenlooper will propose a toast for the chefs,
drinking wine supplied by sponsors Mirassou Winery, Louis M Martini and Frei
Brothers Reserve.
The chefs will be available for exclusive print and
broadcast photo setups.
