Denver PrideFest

Denver's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community throws an enormous party every summer with PrideFest in Civic Center Park.

Recognized as one of the top 10 pride events in the country, Denver PrideFest in Civic Center Park is a celebration of community and culture that is welcoming — and fun — to all attendees, regardless of sexual orientation. The free, two-day festival gets bigger every year. This year's event took place June 18-19, 2016, with the theme "Building Community Through Pride." Please check back for the 2017 dates.

Featured Things To Do

On Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. enjoy activities and entertainment for kids, adults and pets; browse health and wellness booths, the youth interactive area, retail and commercial booths; and recharge at food and beverage stands while watching the famous Dogs in Drag Parade. Guests will enjoy a full day of programming on three stages: the center stage, Latino stage, and dance stage, which features cutting edge DJs spinning beats. On Sunday, the annual Gay Pride Parade makes its way down Colfax Avenue. The parade starts a 9:30 a.m. sharp at Cheesman Park and heads west directly to Civic Center Park.

4 Surefire Ways to Enjoy Denver PrideFest

1. Don't miss the Dogs in Drag Parade on Saturday. Really, is any explanation needed?

2. Bring the whole family. Denver PrideFest has been independently rated as the most family friendly Pride in the nation. Saturday is packed full of family activities. Spend some time at the family interactive area, get your faces painted and slurp down some snow cones. And don't miss the kids' parade, held at noon on Saturday, starting at the PrideFest Main Stage.

3. Come early to Sunday's parade to get a good spot. This event is a favorite event every year with colorful floats from sponsors, nonprofits, local businesses, organizations and politicians filling the streets.

4. Catch some of the other events happening around town in celebration of PrideFest, such as Women's Pride, presented by Babes Around Denver (location and date to be announced), or the Big Gay 5K (June 18, 2016, at 10 a.m.), which is open to walkers, runners, kids, adults, gay and straight.
