Chris Anthony, Extreme Colorado Skier

Colorado native Chris Anthony’s resume speaks for itself: Chris is a former Alaskan Extreme Skiing Champion, a veteran of nine World Extreme Skiing Championships, and has appeared in 20 films by the legendary Warren Miller. He’s skied on the world’s most famous slopes, but he chooses to live right here in Colorado.
Why Colorado Skiing is the Best: Colorado provides the best variety of world-class ski resorts as well as the little mom and pop ski areas. All of them are relatively close to the airport, as well. The winters here are fairly consistent and the resorts’ snow making capabilities are top notch, [which] guarantees a solid product of snow year after year. Good to know when planning that family vacation!
Chris’ Personal Favorite Colorado Skiing: The Vail valley offers the largest variety, the most consistent snow, and it’s close to Denver.
When He Realized Skiing Wasn’t Just A Hobby: I have been skiing since age one. Never thought I would be without it. During college I thought leaving the sport might be just around the corner – unless I could delay it. Trying to delay it has turned into a career.
On Working With Legendary Ski Filmmaker Warren Miller: I have skied for the Warren Miller film for the last 20 years. The memories are too many to put here! I could write a book and I eventually will. It is amazing where a pair of skis can take you on this planet. I have found myself on top of numerous mountains wondering: “How did I get here?”
When He’s Off The Slopes: I love to climb, hike, mountain and road bike, plus kayak a bit – I love being outside and I dig how active people are here.
What He Loves About Denver: I'm here now getting ready to walk into my favorite work out place in Cherry Creek, Pura Vida. Later I’ll hit the Tavern Wash Park or Corridor 44 and then I end it at the Candlelight.
