Colorado ranked #1 in the nation for its economy, according to U.S. News & World Report (2019). A 2019 WalletHub study ranked Colorado the #2 job market in the country and the #3 state for finding a job. WalletHub’s "best states for jobs" list evaluated a state's job market (such as employment growth, job opportunities, unemployment rate and employment outlook), and its economic environment (such as median income, state income tax burden, and average commute time). In a separate WalletHub study, Denver was named among “2019’s Best Large Cities to Start a Business,” earning top 10 ranking out of 182 of the country’s largest cities. WalletHub also named Colorado among the top five “Most Innovative States” in the 2019. Entrepreneur placed The Mile High City in the top 10 “Best Cities to Start a Business” in 2019; and SmartAsset ranked Denver the #3 best U.S. city for young professionals in the same year.
