It is an annual tradition for New Yorkers to come to the city and view windows decorated for the holidays, and there are few windows in the Big Apple with more visibility than ABC Studios, located at 44th and Broadway -- directly across the street from the spot where the Times Square ball is dropped every New Year’s Eve.

VISIT DENVER the Convention & Visitors Bureau was offered the opportunity to decorate the window.  Working with local Condit Exhibits, they created an elaborate 11.5-foot long display to fill the space.  The display features models of many of the city’s top holiday icons, including a lighted City & County Building, Union Station, the Parade of Lights, Red Rocks Amphitheatre and the Denver Art Museum.  A moving replica of the Ski Train circles the window, entering the Moffat Tunnel to Winter Park Resort, while skiers schuss down a giant mountain slope above.

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper will unveil Denver’s window live in New York on Good Morning America on Friday, December 5.  A party is being staged in Denver’s Union Station from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. on December 5 and Good Morning America will cut away from New York to the crowd in the station throughout the morning.   VISIT DENVER will have 30 people in Times Square wearing colorful ski caps, handing out Denver visitor information during the unveiling.

“This is really an incredible opportunity to showcase Denver, both on national television and to hundreds of thousands of New York visitors.  The Good Morning America windows are comparable to the windows at Macy’s, Lord & Taylor and other department stores, so this is a big honor for our city,” states Jayne Buck, vice president of tourism for VISIT DENVER.  “Through our Mile High Holidays campaign, we have been promoting Denver as a holiday destination for five years and this gives us the opportunity to take our campaign to a whole new national audience. The Ski Train and Winter Park Resort also participated as sponsors, allowing Denver to showcase the best of both worlds – a vibrant, urban city at the base of the Rocky Mountains,” Buck said.

The window display was created by Condit Exhibits, one of the nation’s oldest three dimensional marketing companies. Located in Denver, Condit Exhibits specializes in the creation of unique marketing and brand experiences with clients across the globe that include Molson Coors Brewing, Horizon Organic Dairy, Smartwool, Chipotle, the Denver Art Museum and others.  Since their founding in 1945, Condit Exhibits has grown to employ more than 50 people, with in-house areas of expertise that include the design, fabrication, and production of trade show exhibits, permanent exhibits and museum environments.  Keita Usuda, an award winning senior designer at Condit Exhibits, designed the Denver window display.

“Denver’s window is a stylistic interpretation of the holiday season in the Mile High City, inspired by the commercial Art Deco ski posters of the 1930’s,” Usuda said.  The window features mountains and a prominent sun in the West and Denver’s modern skyline and iconic buildings in the east.  Even the Blue Bear at the Colorado Convention Center makes an appearance.  The display will be in the ABC Studio window until December 30.   In future years, the display will be shown at various locations in Denver.

ABC News' "Good Morning America" is anchored by Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts. Chris Cuomo is the news anchor and Sam Champion is the weather anchor. The morning news program airs live from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m./EDT on the ABC Television Network.
