VISIT DENVER, The Convention and Visitors Bureau, has hired Flavia Light as its new vice president of tourism. Light will relocate to Denver from Orlando, where she most recently worked for GoPegasus, a tour operator, DMC, and transportation company. At GoPegasus, she served as director of strategic growth marketing and sales overseeing international business development for the leisure and group segments.
Prior to her tenure with GoPegasus, Light spent nine years with Walt Disney World, Disney Destinations as marketing and sales director. During her time there, she managed a $10 million budget and led a department of 20 team members.
In her new role for VISIT DENVER, Light will lead international sales and marketing efforts while serving as a connector for Denver’s cultural community. She also will be responsible for overseeing VISIT DENVER visitor centers and assisting with new tourism event generation.

Light earned a Bachelor of Arts in business administration and political science from the University of Pittsburgh as well as an MBA from Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business. Originally from Brazil, Light is also fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
