According to the U.S. Green Building Council, Colorado ranks second in the nation for LEED building per capita and fifth in the nation in terms of the amount of square feet of LEED-certified space per state resident. Colorado has been recognized for its work on the Colorado Convention Center and the Union Station project and added 95 LEED-certified projects representing 12,218,992 square feet of real estate, or 2.43 square feet per resident, in 2015, according to the council’s annual survey. Area Development also named The Mile High City the top “Location for Sustainable Economic Development.”
