Chinese New Year Celebration and Cultural Fair

The Highlands Ranch Cultural Affairs Association is partnering with Great Wall Chinese Academy to celebrate the Chinese New Year or Spring Festival. It ushers in the Year of the Brown Earth Dog in 2018. Those born under this sign tend to show great determination and could attain the highest level of achievement if they decide to. Dogs have excellent manners, easily make and keeps friends, works very hard, and appreciates luxury and the goodies in life. They are very romantic, loving, and make loyal partners.

Come and enjoy traditional music, exciting Chinese Dragon and Lion dances, beautiful folk dances and amazing Chinese martial art-Kung Fu demonstrations. Performers are talented school-age individuals and some professionals. All children will receive a red envelope, while supplies last, the traditional means of giving a blessing to the younger generation in the Chinese New Year. A Cultural Fair and Taste of China will also be on hand from Noon – 4:00 p.m. and will feature traditional folk art displays, Chinese costumes, crafts, authentic Chinese calligraphy and brush paintings, numerous Chinese shops, delicious Chinese New Year refreshments and food.
