She first started performing her songs publicly in New York City in 2000, and by 2001 she was performing regularly at the Sidewalk Café located in the Lower East Side of New York. Popular artists such as Kimya Dawson, Regina, Spektor and Jeffrey Lewis played there.

Since then, she has toured throughout the US, UK, Ireland, and Europe. Her vocal style has been described by NPR as a combination of Aaron Neville, the Baka People, and Joni Mitchell. Not only does she bring a unique and captivating voice, but she plays an array of instruments. From guitar to haramonium, to zither, to a copper pipe instrument she built by hand. Diane has released seven albums, including her most recent album Boneset which features cellist Isabel Castellvi and drummer Anders Griffen. Boneset premiered on NPR’s First Listen, All Songs Considered and Tiny Desk Concert Series.
