On Sunday September 23rd, acclaimed intuitive folk singer Diane Cluck will be performing at Red Crags in Manitou Springs, CO. Doors open at 5:00 pm and the opener, Wolfn’Ma will start at 5:30 pm and Diane Cluck with start her performance at 6:00 pm.
Diane Cluck is a singer-songwriter of intuitive folk music and is based in Charlottesville, Virginia. In the late nineties, Manitou local Don Goede worked with Diane Cluck in New York City; selling her first CD and then later booking her gigs at Soft Skull Shortwave, his gallery/bookstore space and at the music venue Tonic. She first started performing her songs publicly in New York City in 2000, and by 2001 she was performing regularly at the Sidewalk Café located in the Lower East Side of New York. Popular artists such as Kimya Dawson, Regina, Spektor and Jeffrey Lewis played there.
Since then, she has toured throughout the US, UK, Ireland, and Europe. Her vocal style has been described by NPR as a combination of Aaron Neville, the Baka People, and Joni Mitchell. Not only does she bring a unique and captivating voice, but she plays an array of instruments. From guitar to haramonium, to zither, to a copper pipe instrument she built by hand. Diane has released seven albums, including her most recent album Boneset which features cellist Isabel Castellvi and drummer Anders Griffen. Boneset premiered on NPR’s First Listen, All Songs Considered and Tiny Desk Concert Series.
