America Divided: The Class Divide, Film Screening
Join us for a documentary screening and discussion focused on the social divide in America

On August 1, Community Resource Center will be facilitating a film screening of The Class Divide, an episode of the documentary series, America Divided which focuses on the growing divide separating Americans from one another.

This episode follows actor, Jesse Williams as he travels to St. Petersburg, Florida. Once known for its beaches and pleasant weather, the town is now notorious for being the unlikely epicenter of the student achievement gap and school-to- prison pipeline. Williams investigates how resegregation has led to a massive educational and criminal justice divide for the students — and witnesses the community’s efforts to confront the school system and heal the divide.

Join us at Open Media Foundation, 700 Kalamath St from 11:00am – 1:00pm for a robust discussion with local leaders, RISE Colorado. After the film we will explore implications for Colorado and opportunities to get involved. Beverages and light snack will be provided.
