Jul 9, 2017
Since his appointment as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Humane Society of the United States, Wayne Pacelle has led the growth of The HSUS in terms of greater visibility and engagement.
During his tenure, The HSUS has effected a remarkable range of corporate and policy gains on animal protection issues ranging from animal fighting and anti-cruelty laws to factory farming, puppy mills, and horse protection.
Pacelle is also a published author. His 2011 book, “The Bond: Our Kinship with Animals, Our Call to Defend Them,” was a New York Times bestseller. His 2016 book, “The Humane Economy: How Innovators and Enlightened Consumers Are Transforming the Lives of Animals,” also a New York Times bestseller, describes a revolution in business and government that is changing forever how we treat animals and transact commerce.
Wayne also regularly posts about issues concerning animal welfare and the work of The HSUS on his “A Humane Nation” blog.
