Impressionism: Art & Music Come to Life Through Dance

Nov 1, 2019 - Nov 2, 2019

“Impressionism” was an era of art known for its representation of momentary actions and perceptions of landscape, light, color and the lives of everyday people. It was more about the impression the artist saw rather than the exact replication. Now, over 100 years after the Impressionism period, the Arvada Center Dance Theatre choreographers and dancers share their perception of the “Impressionistic” period. With famous pieces of art as their inspiration, our choreographers and dancers make the artwork come to life, sometimes literally, figuratively, emotionally or from a completely contemporary lens.

This evening of dance is diverse, joyful and contemplative and one that the audience will remember and talk about long after the performance.
