Murmurations: Part 2
Nov 7, 2020 - Nov 8, 2020
Visionbox Studio Theatre, Denver's professional actor training studio and new play development company, will premiere a completely new work during Denver Arts Week on November 7th and 8th at 7pm. The company now in its 10th Season was founded by Jennifer McCray Rincon, former Head of Acting at The National Theatre Conservatory and graduate of the Yale School of Drama Directing program. In addition to providing local actors with graduate level training, the company has developed new performance work since its founding. New works have included: The Wild Hunt by nationally renowned theatre and film actor Bill Pullman, and Commedia D'Amore by British theatre and film actor Daniel Gerroll. The Studio's first devised production, The Othello Project, was an adaptation of Shakespeare's classic play, that focused on Domestic Violence and PTSD in the military. Murmurations, the company's newest work, will explore the individual's struggle to find meaning and connection during this most challenging period in human history. Visionbox has created a performance style now called "low-friction", that utilizes extreme minimalism on stage with the highest level of technology in design including VR, AR, projection design, 360 camera work and immersive space. During the difficulties of COVID Visionbox has not cancelled one class or production, but converted teaching work and performances to virtual platforms like youtube and ZOOM.
