Plant, Eat and Get Local at The Urban Farm - SCFD Free Day

May 19, 2018

The Urban Farm will be hosting its first Plant, Eat and Get Local event in conjunction with its Spring SCFD Free Day.

The Farm will be open for free self-guided tours. Walk the grounds and see all of our wonderful farm friends: horses, cattle, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, miniature horses and donkey, pot belly pig, and a mule. You can see our Aeroponic towers and the Aquaponics system with many fancy goldfish. And, play in the children's garden.
In addition to the normal farm happenings, TUF will be hosting its first Plant, Eat and Get Local event. Sustainable local products from handmade items to gourmet foods will be available along with high quality organic seedlings at the plant sale. Plant, Eat, and Get Local will celebrate all things sustainable and local, featuring vendors of food products, specialty and gourmet foods (organic, vegan), small family farm products, handcrafted items, CSA’s, local meats and more, as well as educational opportunities in sustainable practices such as backyard poultry care, healthy living, and pet care.

The Urban Farm, located on Smith Road just west of Havana Street, is an educational campus devoted to developing the full potential of its participants through equine education, animal husbandry and horticulture in an intimate farm setting. In addition to its educational programs, The Urban Farm also provides an important and educational visitor attraction to the Northeast Denver area, as well as a unique and attractive venue for mission related activities and events.
