Something Old, Something New:An Evening of Neoclassical Works with Guitarist Nicolò Spera

Oct 20, 2017

Delightful, fun, and full of pizazz, this evening is not to be missed. Join us for neoclassical works that pay homage to the old while envisioning the new. Included in the program is Stravinsky’s setting of Pulcinella, the clown, covering all of the moods—especially humor—and Nicolò Spera playing a sublimely beautiful and engaging concerto by his countryman, Italian Castelnuovo-Tedesco.

Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) Le Tombeau de Couperin
Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (1895-1968) Guitar Concerto No. 1 in D Major, op. 99
Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971) Suite from Pulcinella, after J.B. Pergolesi
