Bringing the World Together Out West: Denver Inches Closer to Hosting 2030 Gay Games

Local events are rallying the LGBTQIA2S+ community and allies as Denver enters the final stage of its global bid.

DENVER, COLORADO, USA (June 18, 2025) Denver is now a finalist top-two city to host the 2030 International Gay Games. In July, the Federation of Gay Games will visit Denver to learn why in 2030, athletes and artists from across the globe will come Together Out West.

To prepare for the Federation’s visit, the Gay Games Denver 2030 Bid Committee (GGDEN2030) has new initiatives to involve the LGBTQIA2S+ community and our allies in their efforts to earn the honor of hosting the games.

On June 21st and 22nd, GGDEN2030, supported by the Denver Parks and Recreation department, will host park clean up at Jacobs Park and the AIDS Memorial Park, giving these community areas new life ahead of the city’s Pride celebrations at the end of the month. Volunteers can sign up here.

On June 28 and 29, join GGDEN2030 at PrideFest in Civic Center Park and support Denver’s bid to host the 2030 Gay Games as well as find out how to get involved.

On July 16, everyone is welcome to join us at our FREE Community Night at ReelWorks Denver (1399 35th St. Denver CO. 80205)

The Community Night is an important part of the official Gay Games site inspection from the Federation of Gay Games (FGG) taking place July 15-18; a strong showing from the community is essential in showcasing the community’s support for the bid to the selection committee. These visits will showcase the venues throughout the Denver Metro Area that will host the sport and cultural events, and serve as the final opportunity for Denver to showcase why the world belongs Together Out West in 2030.

If you can't attend our events but want to be part of the movement to bring the 2030 Gay Games to Denver, you can still make an impact by donating directly through our new GoFundMe.

Furthermore, GGDEN2030 is actively seeking volunteers, letters of support, and short videos of support from community members. Learn how to get involved by visiting GGDEN2030’s “Support” page here, and use the information below to stay in the know about community events in the works as we work to bring the world “Together, Out, West” in 2030.
