Support For Denver Bid Grows As Oct 4 Kick Off Event Approaches

Gay Games Denver 2030 adds critical backers ahead of Community Pep Rally

DENVER, COLORADO, USA (September 30, 2024) The overwhelming amount of community support for Denver’s Bid to host the 2030 Gay Games will be on full display this Friday at a community pep rally, marking the official kick off of Denver’s push to secure the 2030 Games.

The Gay Games Denver 2030 Bid Committee (GGDEN) has worked to secure buy-in from local and state leaders from the outset – Governor Jared Polis and Mayor Michael Johnston were among the earliest supporters of the bid. In recent weeks, the bid has gained additional support from Attorney General Phil Weiser, the Denver City Council, multiple State Senators and Representatives, and others, bringing the total number of individuals, organizations, and businesses supporting Denver’s bid to over 50. ALL INVITED – This support will be on full display as supporters of GGDEN’s effort to bring the world’s largest LGBTQ+ sporting event to the mile-high city. All are welcome to join GGDEN and its many supporters this Friday October 4, 2024, from 6:00-7:30 at ReelWorks Denver to learn more about Denver’s bid and how to support as Denver advances through the bidding process.

The event will feature local supporting sports and cultural organizations, elected politicians, live entertainment, and an exciting video preview of Denver’s bid. Following this event, GGDEN will travel to Washington, D.C. October 25-27, 2024 to present Denver’s  bid to the FGG site selection voting body, making the case for Denver to be one of the final three cities selected as finalists for the 2030 Games.

All pep rally general admission tickets also receive a complimentary beverage, GGDEN sticker, free admission to the popular “First Friday” event at Tracks and also to the next coveted “Halloween Drag Nation” event - a $45 value. Click here for information; use promo code “ggdenga” for FREE general admission tickets!

The 2030 Denver Gay Games, as outlined in the 100 page bid book submitted last month, would bring over 12,000 participants and spectators to Denver, feature 36 different sporting events and a complementary slate of cultural events, hosted throughout the Denver Metro Area.
