The American Museum of Western Art, located in the historic Navarre Building, is the permanent home of the Anschutz Collection. Over 300 paintings by more than 180 artists are displayed in a salon style, providing guests with a survey of Western art, as well as a better understanding and appreciation of the history and beauty of the American West over time.

  • Group Activities Description: The American Museum of Western Art – The Anschutz Collection is a special historical and educational venue that is available for private events and group tours. The Historic Navarre Building is a perfect venue for corporate meetings, dinners, or receptions. You and your guests will be surrounded by beautiful western art, with access to all three floors of art galleries, throughout your time in the museum. If your group is looking to take a trip through western history and art then a group tour is perfect for you. Group tours are offered on Tuesday and Thursdays between 10 am and 4:30 pm. Writing the West: Reading and Installation <p>AMWA partners with the Lighthouse Writers Workshop in offering monthly writing sessions in the museum galleries! Join us for a very special reading where guests will hear from the authors who have been inspired by the colorful history and paintings of the West.</p> <p>The program will include poetry and short story readings, and a chance to talk with the authors about how the paintings sparked their memories and creativity. Attendees of the program will receive a book of the writings produced and read in the 2016/2017 Writing the West sessions, so come and get yours!</p> America/North_Dakota/Center
