Appaloosa Grill a.k.a “The Horse” is an American/World traditional restaurant and live music venue on the 16th Street Mall in the downtown Denver business district. The Horse was originally the vision of the former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper and was established in April 2001. In July 2005, Oakhurst band members/employees Johnny James Qualley & Adam Hill purchased the restaurant and have since sold interest to other employees; Mark Kline (Bar Manager), Mattè Copeland (AGM), and Guy Faulkner (Talent Buyer).

Appaloosa Grill is proud to serve fresh, high quality all natural proteins and uses organic produce when and wherever possible. Everything is made from scratch, right down to the ketchup! Chef Francisco Quintana has created a menu that features a wide variety of comfort foods as well as a large selection of vegetarian, gluten free and vegan options. The Grill boasts two happy hours daily and the kitchen is open until 1:30am nightly.

  • Description On the street level Appaloosa Grill offers a 4000 square foot full service restaurant and bar. The facility is available for full buyouts or semi private events in the main dining room. In 2014, the Appaloosa Grill unveiled a 1,200 square foot events facility unlike any other in Denver's Downtown Business District. Perched directly above this neighborhood favorite is the elegantly lit Wright Room; a fully private, custom furnished, modular gathering space specifically designed to host functions of all types. In addition to the inviting lounge and dining areas, the facility is also equipped with a copper topped bar, induction credenza, interactive A/V, and stunning floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bustling 16th Street Mall.
