The Avenue Grill building was constructed in 1924 with retail on the ground floor and the El Dorado apartments on the second floor. The mixed use retail has included the East Denver Creamery and Delicatessen owned by the James McCreedy Family, the Avenue Bar, a dry cleaners and tailor shop. The restaurant was purchased in 1988 and renovated to what we know today as the Avenue Grill. The theme of a San Francisco style neighborhood bar and Grill was derived from one of San Francisco’s oldest restaurants, the Tadich Grill. Like the Tadich Grill, the Avenue Grill features food from the four corners of the Bay City; North Beach (Little Italy), the Wharf, Chinatown and old San Francisco, featuring fresh west coast seafood and produce. We are honored to be celebrating our 30th Anniversary.
