Leadville-Twin Lakes

Leadville, the highest incorporated city in North America, is located in the geographic center of Colorado and accessed by the Top of the Rockies Scenic Byway. One of America’s richest, longest-lived and bawdiest mining boomtowns, 70-square blocks of the downtown area has been designated as a National Historic Landmark of Victorian architecture. There are seven museums, historical tours and train rides. Nearby Twin Lakes is also a National Historic District. Both destinations are year-round magnets for sightseeing and activities, including hiking, alpine and cross-country skiing, fishing and golf.
