Trattoria Stella is locally owned and operated. Denver natives, Thomas & Marna Sumners opened the first Stella in the Highlands at 32nd & lowell in 1999. Their mission was to create a great contemporary neighborhood Italian restaurant with a scratch kitchen that includes homemade pasta, bread & desserts. With the success of their first venture, the Sumners opened their second Stella in 2009 on Colfax near City Park. Trattoria Stella continues to offer great personal service, delicious homemade food, and a unique Denver experience for all their guests who walk through the door.
