Located 45 minutes south of Denver, the Air Force Academy was sanctioned in 1954 to produce future military leaders. The Academy experience is free to the public, offering self guided tours, a visitor center, aircraft displays, a gift shop, and a snack bar.

- Group Activities Description: The Visitor Center, which includes a gift shop and restaurant, shows a 14-minute movie throughout the day highlighting the academy experience in the 250-seat theater. The exhibit area features displays on history and cadet life. Self-guided tour maps and information on the academy are available at the information desk. The center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve Day, and New Year's Day.
