Relive America’s western mining heritage at the museum that works! There is something for every age and interest featuring restored and operating multi-ton steam engines, mining equipment, gold panning, minerals, art and antiques, live burros and nature explorations.

- Group Activities Description: Guided tours are conducted year round, indoors and fully handicapped accessible. Tours last approximately 90 minutes taking visitors through the rich history of the American West from the Gold Rush to the Industrial Revolution. The tour proceeds through the evolution of mining and it's relation to power and machinery. The museum contains many working steam engines from the 1800's. The building itself was erected around a 37 ton steam engine which is operated daily. Discounts available for groups over 10. Call ahead for reservations.
- Group Performance Description: The museum sits on 27 acres of lush historic farming property with meadows, natural springs and ponds. A historic barn built in the 1800's is available for music or other entertainment groups. It is a beautiful setting for any group to gather in.
